- Rate of pay is $34.80/HR
- 700 hours (generally 3 school days per week)
- Position follows school calendar; September - June
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree required in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- Training and experience in conflict resolution preferred
- Experience in working with adolescents required
- Ability to motivate non-traditional learners
- Ability to act as a role model
- Demonstrates skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community
Duties:
- Group and individual drug prevention/intervention services to students, grades 9-12
- Provision of other group services, e.g. anger management, grief, and loss, depending on identified needs of the student population
- Referral of at-risk students and families to community resources
- Liaison with Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth and Families
- Sustain school-wide Student Assistance Program (alcohol, other drugs, suicide prevention/intervention) through connections with students, parents, community, staff, and administration
- Facilitate student organization (the Coalition Teen Council) focused on community and school-wide prevention efforts targeting current trends in alcohol and other drug issues and other identified community/building needs
- Organize and host community-wide prevention events and related efforts
